The Barça are ready to make their most important signing of the summer a permanent fixture.
After a series of signings over the last few years, the Catalan club are finally on the verge of bringing in a marquee signing who has a strong track record at the top of the game.
As well as the signing of Alvaro Morata from Juventus, the club are also set to announce the signing from Sevilla of their former striker Pepe.
The deal will see Morata move to the Camp Nou and the forward will join the club on a season-long loan.
“I’m happy to announce my arrival to the Club in Spain on a temporary deal,” Morata told Barça TV.
“I want to thank Sevilla for their good treatment of me and thank Barça for the opportunity.”
Barça, who have been heavily linked with Sevilla’s Argentine striker Andres Iniesta, will be making a big splash in the transfer market this summer and with the arrival of Morata, they look to be on their way to becoming one of the top sides in the world.
Alvaro, the most expensive signing of this summer, has been a regular starter for Barça since arriving at the Campanile in 2014.
He has scored seven goals in 27 games and is the club’s all-time leading scorer in La Liga with 38 goals.
Barcelona’s Champions League run in 2015-16 saw them finish third in the competition and he has been one of their most consistent players this season, scoring 11 goals in 18 league appearances.
Barça currently sit fifth in LaLiga table, two points clear of their nearest rivals Real Madrid.
